About Dr. Courtney Wright
Scholar.
Strategist. Systems Builder.
I’ve spent over 15 years at the intersection of education policy, organizational leadership, and community impact — and what I’ve learned is this: the organizations doing the most important work are often the least resourced to prove it.

My Story
I didn't start as a consultant. I started as a practitioner.
My path into this work wasn’t linear — and that’s by design. I came up through the classroom, moved into school leadership, earned my Ph.D. in Educational Policy from UC Santa Barbara, and spent over a decade leading across some of the most complex organizational contexts in education: Alliance College-Ready Public Schools, Green Dot Charter Network, LAUSD, and beyond.
What I kept seeing, at every level, was the same problem. Organizations with genuine missions and talented leaders — but infrastructure that couldn’t carry the weight of their ambitions. Grant proposals that fell flat not because the work wasn’t real, but because the data wasn’t organized. Strategic plans that gathered dust because no one had built the systems to implement them.
“I didn’t want to just advise from the outside. I wanted to roll up my sleeves and build alongside the people doing the work.”
So I built Spiraling in Control™ — a consulting and professional development framework rooted in a simple truth: sustainable organizations are built by whole, grounded leaders. And I launched my consulting practice to offer the kind of deep, systemic support that most organizations need but rarely find in a single partner.
I bring the rigor of a researcher, the instincts of a practitioner, and the heart of someone who has always believed that the communities doing the hardest work deserve the strongest infrastructure.
From the Inside Out
I believe lasting organizational change starts with the people doing the work. Systems that don’t account for human sustainability don’t survive. Every engagement I lead honors that truth.
Rigor Meets Reality
My Ph.D. gives me the research lens. My 15+ years in the field give me the practitioner instincts. I bring both into every room — because good strategy requires both.
Built Alongside You
I don’t hand you a report and walk away. I build with you — co-creating the systems, language, and infrastructure your team will actually use and sustain long after our engagement ends.
